A lovely end to the season at Kington Agricultural show in their first year of hosting Shetlands. Lathom Joyful took Standard Champion and Pirouette Midnight Debut won her Yearling class. Sadly no Junior or Overall Championship but hopefully they will add these next year. A great show, will definatley be returning next year. |

![]() Had a fab day...hang on let me start again...really pleased with the ponys today at Oswestry, despite never having shown in so much rain in all my life, 3hrs of it, soaked right through to my skin, even the judge, Ms L Henson, said 'oh it's running down my neck', as we stood out of line, but then the sun came out and we all stood steaming in the Championships. I'm sure i will remember it fondly in years to come, many years!!! Anyway our homebred yearling filly Pirouette Midnight Debut won her class, was Best Yearling, and went on to take Reserve Junior Champion. Our mare Lathom Joyful, was 2nd in her class, beaten by the Lathom stud showing her Auntie ![]() Been rummaging around in some old photos and found this one of Bunny at her first show as a 2yr old. We bought her unhandled and this was about 3 weeks later. I remember trotting up and down outside the ring practising, Bunny with her eyes popping out but not putting a foot wronng. So love the practical approach of Shetlands to life! ![]() Our favourite photograph of Jamie (Hose Reynard) has been selected by the BSPS for use on the Heritage Page of their website. How proud are we that his photo is now displayed as the image supporting the Shetland Breed Description on the website of such a famous society. ![]() Went to Builth on Friday really looking foward to having a day shopping for a friend who wanted a miniature colt....however somewhere along the way the plan went a little off track and instead of coming home with one, we came home with two!! Mom fell in love with little Jack, and, if i'm honest so did I!
Wow, truly amazed, have just looked at our site stats and we are averaging about 100 unique hits a day, thank you everyone for dropping by :-)
![]() A lovely day at our favourite show Burwarton this year, a huge thank you to everyone for all their help and support as mom was unable to make it. Showing on your own isn't easy and I have discovered that top of the logistical problems are our great custom stalls in the lorry which work so well when there are two of you, but are a bit tricky when you're on your own! Well done to everyone who survived the 30degree heat, especially judge Mr D Gibson and his Stewards. Really pleased with our fab result of Reserve Champion with Hose Easter, made all the tricky logistics well worth while! ![]() Yay, Jamie's photograph has won 2nd place in the Iceni Native Pony Show photograph competition which we entered on their Face book page. Well done the Shetlands who also took first place. Photos will be used on their website and in promotional material. Following more emails asking if my Bridle range is available yet (after being let down by my proposed Bridle maker), I now have two more meetings lined up in Walsall, the capital of English leather Saddle makers, to get the ball rolling again. A full range of English leather Miniature & Standard in hand bridles and filly slips will be the first to be available......it won't be long now, getting excited again.
Thank you to everyone who has emailed me about the Performance Show photographs, I am happy you like them and really appreciate the comments and thanks from people who would like copies, or to reproduce them, it makes the taking of them all worth while.....please enjoy them.
![]() Unfortunatley the organisers of the show were let down at the last minute by their photographer so inbetween my classes I endevoured to take as many photographs as possible. I am sure I will have missed some people, my apologies, but for those I did manage to capture you are welcome to the photographs. The quality has been reduced for uploading ease, if you see a picture you like please send me a quick message and I will happily email you the full quality image. Many Thanks Kate Click Here for photgraphs. Unfortunatley the organisers of the show were let down at the last minute by their photographer so inbetween our classes I took as many photographs as possible of everybody there. I have approximately 130 edited images to upload tomorrow...but as I am getting up at 5.30am to show there in hand tomorrow so bed is calling.......
![]() A lovely day today at the Performance Show with our Mare Threapwood Velour and Sophie Jones of The Chasend Stud, and her boys Edward and Harry. They boys were great, (and so were the girls), lots of lovely rosettes and smiles. A fantastic show, the judges are so patient and positive with all the children. Wow.....155 hits to the new website since 7pm last night, and it's only 9.30am, wow, amazing.....hope I got all the typos lol!!!!
